Delivering hard-hitting hip hop from her soul to yours, New Orleans icon Queen Kold Madina is making headlines again, this time with her brand new WIDE OPEN featured on her sophomore LP, FEAR NO GUMBO. The star of Trouble the Water, an influential, ground breaking documentary on Hurricane Katrina, is back and rising to the top of the music scene, serving up an infectious blend of heavy duty beats, truthfully raw rhymes mixed with that southern hip-hop swag.
Madina wrote, recorded and produced four original songs for the film, which would eventually be featured on her debut album of the same name. The title track Trouble the Water left a lasting impression of her rapping and writing prowess, receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song in a Film, while the movie itself was also nominated for Best Documentary Feature.
Rolling Stone's Peter Travers interviewed Queen Blackkoldmadina at the Sundance Film Festival and reported that a star is born . According to Travers, "Kimberly's star power comes from the music she writes and sings. "A glory abides in Kimberly's voice," said Travers.

James Long (Born on 1/22) better known by his stage name, Lyrics, is an American rapper who grew up in the suburbs of Edison, NJ. Older brother to famed R&B Singer "Pamela Long" from Bad Boy Entertainment Legendary female group "Total". Lyrics began writing rhymes at the young age of 12. By the age of 14 he was performing at different talent shows throughout New Jersey & started recording music. At the young age of 17 he was a local celebrity and well respected for his wittiness and clever wordplay amongst his peers. Throughout his early years, Lyrics was a part of several unsuccessful rap groups until he teamed up with a 6 man group called "The Union"who were eventually signed by "Platinum Records". As a member of "The Union", the group went on to gain national attention by collaborating with some of hip hops biggest talent at such as the late great Big L, AZ, the late Guru from Gangstarr, Twista, CL Smooth, Cormega, Raekwon the Chef and R&B sensation Total just to name a few. The group also appeared on TV several times. Including B.E.T.’s show Rap City, and Planet Group alongside rap star CL Smooth. The Union released the critically acclaimed album “Hard Labor” in the summer of 1997 with lead single “She Love Me” featuring Lyrics, Pam Long & Keisha Epps of the famed group Total. The group soon hit the the road to promote the album. But soon after returning home from tour the group disbanded after only one album. Now stepping out as a solo artist for the first time since his early years, Lyrics has started making noise on the road as the opening act for Total & now for his sister Pamela Long. He will be dropping his highly anticipated EP at the end of 2018 Titled “Back to the Basics”.
