Dandexx Kirk Cornelius Brown, stage name Dandexx, was born on the 14th of April, 1976 in the Parish of Kingston. Music was something he had in him as far back as 1993 while he worked as a baker. In his free time he would write lyrics, but decided to take a break from his day job to perfect his art. He writes his own music and is versatile in both styles of Reggae and Dancehall. In 1997, Dandexx appeared at Pier One in Montego Bay. After this, he went on to do a host of other shows island wide. He recorded songs such as ‘More Than One Gal’, ‘Gun to Mi Forehead’ and ‘Nash Good’ at Mixing Lab Studios in Kingston, Jamaica. He also recorded ‘Mi Family’ and ‘Hold Yu Head High’ for Di Next Generation Production WC, which got major airplay on Irie FM and several other radio stations throughout Jamaica. He was part of the Ready Fi Bus Crew managed by Louise Frazer Bennett until she passed away. After that, he joined up with Ras Carey and King Kazoo to form a group called Music Knowledge. They performed at Champions in Action at Portmore and Sting The Greatest One Night Show in Jamaica, Rebel Salute, and a host of other shows. In 2000, Music Knowledge recorded their first group song ‘Love Rastafari’ for Di Next generation Production WC. They teamed up with Michael Reid (Gogan Production), a producer, and recorded three songs for him: ‘Don’t You Worry’, ‘Better Days’ and ‘Life Is’. That same year, they performed at Bob Marley’s birthday bash in Trench Town. They teamed up with Dean Frazer and recorded five songs: ‘Stop the Gun Shot’, ‘My Culture’, ‘It’s Only Love’, ‘Government’ and ‘Wi A Di Fyah’. They also recorded songs for other producers like Scubbi: ‘Life’ and Leonard Brown, one of the group members, who helped to record ‘In Love With Me’. These songs were released in U.S.A. and other countries. Dandexx has done voice over for ‘Wiser Man’ at Grafton Studios (Jamaica) for Mikey Bennett. In 2004 Dandexx recorded an education song for the youths with Jack Raddicks, Ghost, Goofey and other well known artists for Mikey Bennett. He also recorded songs with Junior Menzies of Ethiop Production. Dandexx went back to being a solo artist and continues to work with Di Next Generation Production WC based out of Los Angeles, CA which he started in Jamaica along with his brother and Producer/Road Manager, Wayne Brown, aka Bigga Wealth. He has performed across the country in such places as Portland, ME; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ and other cities. He has also performed at The Roxy and House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA. He has now recorded three albums. ‘2 Roads’ and ‘Soft Answer’ mastered at Tuff Gong Studios, Kingston, Jamaica and ‘Proverb’ recorded at the legendary Westlake Studios in Hollywood, California and TMP Studios in Santa Monica, California. He is currently working on his 4th album with collaboration with popular artists worldwide. His break out single from his ‘Soft Answer’ album is entitled ‘Confident’ which created a great impact in Jamaica. It is being played on Sirius XM Satellite Radio “The Joint” and Music Choice’s “Reggae Channel”. This artist, who is shaping out to be the next big name, has appeared on several cable programs, including stations such as Allied Cable Vision, Real T.V., Yard Beat, CVM, Irie T.V., Music Plus, TVJ, Hype TV, BOJ TV (his video ‘Confident’ tops the charts in Jamaica TV stations), TV JA and Parallel Music (Pasadena, California). He is receiving airplays worldwide on AM/FM radio stations, satellite radio and internet radios. His albums are distributed through Di Next Generation Production WC through all major digital stores worldwide.
