Martin Luther King Jr Day 2014
By Jamal Whited
Thank God for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As a native of Atlanta, Ga, it has always meant a great deal to be able to celebrate Dr. Kings memory, struggle, mission, and legacy.
I believe that Dr. King was a prophet and angel all wrapped up in one. He taught a nation that we can live together, we can work together, and we can love one another.
As a young man growing up in Atlanta, I have always strived to take advantage of the doors that Dr. King opened for us. I took it upon myself to learn all that I can to dare to be in complete control of my own destiny. I dedicate myself to giving back to my chosen field and to help in the uplifting of my community. I thank Dr. King for giving me the courage to be the best I can be. I thank Dr. King for giving me and a few generations now, the opportunity to be able to own our own businesses and think freely.
I honor Dr. King this day by invoking a No Argument, No Confrontation, No Negative Thoughts day of Peace.
