In the past couple of years, the Chicago native made a name for himself through his memorable debut track “Lost Without You”. Raw and authentic in every sense of the word, Mike is a true force to be reckoned with and he proves it on his latest release, Simply Wonderful. So let’s stop scratching the surface and dig a little deeper into Mike De’Cole: Born and raised on the south side of Chicago is where Mike De’Cole first heard and fell in love with music. Realizing he had a gift to sing he started listening to other greats and working on his craft. He wrote his first song that was about heartbreak of a past love titled “Lost Without You” that gained him some notoriety. His song was heard on Reverdnation by Verizon Mobile and offered him a chance to perform at the Chicago talent showcase at Buddy Guys Legends as well as the opportunity to perform at 2013 Essence Festival. In 2016 Mike released his debut album in title of ‘So It Was Written’, which received great reviews and exceeded his fans expectations that year he was also nominated for best R&B Soul song for his single Find A Way To Love by California’s HMMA (Hollywood music media arts). It was during the same year that Mike was discovered by The World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media (WAALM) and got introduced to the best-selling author and renowned Canadian songwriter, Mosi Dorbayani. ‘When I’m with You’, a song written by Mosi was Mike’s first international collaboration, which captured the attentions of European and North American R&B fans as targeted. Mike’s skillful vocal deliverance of ‘When I’m with You’ qualified him to get featured on CBC Music Radio in Canada and BBC Music in London. In May 2017, WAALM officially signed up the vocal artist of excellence, Mike De’cole, to team up with Mosi Dorbayani, the critically acclaimed international songwriter to record this EP album, In 2018 Mike teamed up with Grammy Award winning artist Jamecia Bennett Of Sounds Of Blackness to write a beautiful soulful ballad titled Man 4 Me that won the USA Songwriter competition, he was working on the release of his 2nd project titled Simply Wonderful. Fast forward to 2019 and Mike De’cole is still in a great creative space; releasing his latest project – a new catchy UK single – ‘Let’s Lay Back’, taken from his highly anticipated 4 track taster EP ‘Simply Wonderful’, which will be released as a full project later this year. ‘Let’s Lay Back’ is an infectiously smooth summer track featuring a sample of ‘Can You Feel What I’m Saying’ by Minnie Ripperton, laced with De’cole’s silky, distinctive vocals. Currently residing in Minnesota (his mother relocated the family to have a better life giving them the freedom to grow and pursue their dreams), Mike De’cole worked with Ben Obi, Tim Levy, Cap and Dean Jackson on ‘Let’s Lay Back’ to create RnB magic that is nothing short of a vibe.
